On Saturday, May 28, nineteen volunteers gathered to sweep the floor of the stadium, removing pebbles and gravel that would not feel good on bare feet. They swept the loose material into small piles which were subsequently removed. They were: Georgios Andrianakos, Athanasios Asimis, Dimitris Bakasetas, Basiliki Georgiou, Elisabeth Georgiou, Charoula Gkounta, Evangelos Grivakis, Theodoros Theodoropoulos, Konstantinos Kalousis, Christina Karabatsou, Spyros Kyriakos, Georgios Kostouros, Athanasios Malakos, Dimitra Malachia, Stephen Miller, Dimitris Nikolaou, Janine Nikolaou, Stavroula Panopoulou-Naki, and Athanasios Schoinochoritis.

All deserve our thanks, but especially Ath. Asimis and Ath. Malakos who worked until 7:30 p.m. (i.e. about 8 hours after the others had left) to remove the small piles of earth.
