Dear members, volunteers, friends and supporters of our Society,
It has been already more than a year since the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic forced us to postpone the Seventh Revival of the Nemean Games, which was to take place on June 26, 27, and 28, 2020.
Now, many of you are asking us if we will organize the Seventh Nemean Games in the summer of 2021. As we share your anxiety, but also your love and enthusiasm for the institution of the Nemean Games, this issue was discussed at the recent meeting of the Board of Directors of the Society, on May 12, 2021.
Our first thought was the protection of public health and of course the fact that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing. Furthermore, there are so many preparations that should have been made for the successful organization of the event, which, however, the restrictions of previous months did not allow us to carry out. For this reason, the members of the Board of Directors considered that it is impossible for the postponed Seventh Nemean Games to take place in 2021, and decided to reschedule the event in 2022, however, without setting specific dates at this moment. The dates will be set by the next General Assembly of the Society, when it is finally allowed to take place.
As for the General Assembly and the elections, there will be a new announcement as soon as the date and venue are decided.
